Moses Kuria Tells Off Ruku, Reminds Him Votes Mbeere North are less than ward in Kiambu: "Tupendane"

Former Trade CS Moses Kuria publicly cautioned Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku over rhetoric he warned could fracture the Mt Kenya region

However, he warned that pursuing separate political interests for Mt Kenya East and Mt Kenya West would ultimately cost the region its collective bargaining power.

To reinforce his argument, Gachagua compared the size of the electorate in Ruku's Mbeere North constituency with that of Kamenu Ward in Kiambu county , saying every voting bloc, regardless of its size, plays an important role in national politics.

In his view, no community should be dismissed or regarded as politically insignificant, ending with a call for reconciliation.

Kuria's message came after Ruku publicly defended Deputy President Kithure Kindiki at a meeting in Mauche, Nakuru, where he also launched a sharp attack on former DP Rigathi Gachagua .

Ruku rejected assertions that Mt Kenya had distanced itself from President William Ruto's administration, insisting the tensions in the region stem from Gachagua's personal grievances following his impeachment.

He contrasted Kindiki's conduct in office with Gachagua's, describing the current Deputy President as diligent, respectful and committed, while characterising the former DP in starkly negative terms.

Source: Twitter Ruku's sustained Mt Kenya West, East divide sentments Ruku has consistently raised concerns about what he describes as unequal distribution of government projects between Mt Kenya East, comprising Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi counties and Mt Kenya West.

He has previously argued that 77.7% of roads constructed in the Mt Kenya region are concentrated in Mt Kenya West, and cited electricity connectivity rates in Kiambu, at around 90%, against significantly lower figures in Tharaka Nithi as evidence of the disparity.

Ruku has maintained that raising these issues is not an attempt to divide the region but an honest account of development realities.
