Preparations are in top gear for the launch of the People's Renaissance Movement (PM Party), a new political outfit under the stewardship of Saboti MP Caleb Amisi.
Amisi is among a group of ODM rebels who chose to chart independent political paths after the mainstream ODM party resolved to work with President William Ruto and back his re-election bid.
Moses Kuria shares cryptic message as pressure piles on Ruto ahead of 2027 polls: "The ship hit the iceberg"
He has since positioned the PM Party as an alternative political home anchored on the need for change, with its agenda to be driven largely by young Kenyans, particularly the Gen Z generation that has increasingly asserted itself in the country's political conversations.
According to an invitation card seen by this publication, the party will hold its National Delegates Convention (NDC) on Tuesday, August 11 at the A.S.K Dome, ASK Showgrounds in Jamhuri Park, Nairobi.
The invitation, addressed to VIP guests, describes the gathering as a cordial invitation to the convention and carries the party's tagline, "The Change We Need," alongside its Swahili rendering, "Mabadiliko Ni Sasa."
Guests have been asked to RSVP by August 5 through the party's official email and phone contacts.
The build-up to the launch has been marked by an extensive billboard campaign carrying the branding "Tuko Chama, Je Wewe?" alongside the party's hummingbird logo, a campaign that appears designed to build public anticipation and drive turnout ahead of the official unveiling.
The choice of the ASK Showgrounds, a venue regularly used for large political and public gatherings in Nairobi, signals that the PM Party is aiming for a high-turnout launch as it seeks to announce itself on the national political stage.

Amisi's move to launch a fully-fledged party marks a significant step in the realignment of Kenya's opposition politics , as figures who fell out with ODM's leadership over its rapprochement with the Ruto administration continue to explore new political vehicles ahead of the 2027 general election.
The PM Party's explicit courting of Gen Z Kenyans, a demographic that has been at the forefront of anti-government protests and online political mobilisation in recent years, positions it to compete for a constituency that established parties have struggled to fully capture.
Party leaders hailed the milestone as a step toward economic liberation, unveiling a blue hummingbird emblem to symbolise resilience and agility, and framing “renaissance” as Kenya’s political, social, and economic rebirth.
PM is seen as Amisi's exit plan from ODM, with him accusing Ruto’s administration of derailing national progress and calling for a full political reset in next year’s elections, though he remains undecided on whether to defend his current seat or seek a new one.
