Rather than listing conventional academic credentials, he pointed to his four-year record as a ward representative as his primary qualification.

He framed the parliamentary bid not as a pursuit of prestige but as an opportunity to tackle larger problems on a wider platform, directing his appeal at parents struggling with school fees, unemployed youth, small business traders, women concerned about security, and commuters dealing with congestion.

Kevin Okumu Nyakwar Padel questioned the authenticity of the announcement, writing, "But Alai doesn't own a Facebook account. Who is addressing the people of Dagoreti North?"

Kevin Kemboi echoed the skepticism, stating, "Alai said he doesn't own any Facebook account. Avoid this propaganda that he will be vying for the MP position."

Alai has been a vocal ODM figure at the county level, known for taking positions on political and social issues that many elected leaders have avoided.
