Energy Principal Secretary Alex Wachira has strongly denied allegations that he participated in a plot to disrupt a Democracy for the Citizens Party rally in Naromoru, threatening legal action against East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega over what he described as defamatory statements.

Wachira posted his response on X Saturday August 1, after a video circulated online in which Kega claimed the PS had held meetings with Kieni MP Njoroge Wainaina to recruit youths and derail a planned DCP gathering ahead of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's visit to the area.

Kega issued the warning while addressing DCP supporters, framing the alleged meetings as a coordinated effort to intimidate the party.

Wachira rejected the accusations outright, insisting they were unsupported by any evidence and amounted to a smear campaign.
The PS warned that he takes his public standing seriously and would not allow such claims to go unchallenged.
Wachira closed his statement by reaffirming his commitment to his role, saying he would remain focused on serving Kenyans in his capacity as PS for Energy in pursuit of President William Ruto's vision of Kenya becoming a first-world country.
